Closing Ceremony of the Tournament and Cultural Programm

docu-5december volley-siegerOn 5 December the Dr. Harbhajan Singh Memorial Inter School National Volleyball Tournament for Boys ended with the semi finals and the final match. Chief guest of the day was Hon. S. Gulzar Singh Ranike, cabinet minister of Punjab, responsible for sports. He adressed the audience and then handed out the awards to the teams, assisted by H.H. Surinder Kaur and representatives of Unity of Man.

In both semi final matches the teams gave their utmost. At last the finalists were found: SAI Mastuwana, Punjab and Baba Mugipa Sr. Sec. School, Bhiwani, Hariyana. The final match was again a hard fight over three sets with several thrilling moments and artistic actions. In the end the team of Bhiwani was the winner of the tournament.

Dances, songs and gymnastics surrounded the official programme. Another guest of honour, Mr. D. P. Malik, Director of All India Radio, concluded the tournament in the evening at 6 p.m.

docu-5december kulturAt nighttime 9 p.m. another cultural programme took place, focussing on modern and traditional dances. First girls of the Kirpal Sagar Academy showed beautiful dances as in the days before and in the afternoon. Then students of the B.Ed. College, Kirpal Sagar, performed a choreography which demonstrated how people belonging to different religions are set to fight against each by an agitator. Different scenes made evident that finally women and children become the innocent victims and that it is in our hand to live in peace if we respect one another and meet from man to man.

Then the Police Academy Phillaur and thereafter the Police Academy Nawanshar surprised the audience with colourful dancing and singing until midnight.
